The DAER POLI-Wind research group had an impactful presence at TORQUE 2026, the 11th edition of the biennial event of the European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE).
Two faculty members - Prof. Alessandro Croce and Prof. Stefano Cacciola - and two PhD students - Lucrezia Calzoni and Mara Galliani - from the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DAER) attended the conference.
DAER researchers contributed to the scientific program with eight published papers in the Conference Proceedings, including contributions developed in collaboration with other POLIMI research groups and partner institutions.
The presented research addressed key topics in the wind energy field, including floating wind turbines, vertical axis wind turbines (VAWT), wind farm control, and the application of Machine Learning (ML) techniques for advanced monitoring and stability analysis.
Furthermore, participation in this event marked a major achievement, as POLIMI wind energy PhD students successfully secured the opportunity to host the prestigious EAWE Wind Energy PhD Seminar in 2028.
This milestone will provide a unique opportunity for DAER and POLIMI to welcome the next generation of wind energy researchers and strengthen collaboration with the international research community.
A sincere thank you to everyone involved for their dedication, and to the Wind Energy community for the inspiring exchanges and valuable insights.
