Oliveira Pinho Gonçalo

PHD

Gonçalo was born in Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal, in 2000.
After obtaining the B.S.c in Aerospace Enginneering in Lisbon, he moved to Milan and went on obtaining his M.S.c in Space Engineering. A Ph.D student at the Dart Group, he is responsible for the autonomous guidance of interplanetary CubeSats within the context of the EXTREMA project.
In particular, his research focuses on the development of onboard guidance algorithms using direct methods, a solver tailored for onboard platforms, and their integration into hardware-in-the-loop simulations.
His supervisor is Prof. Francesco Topputo.
