PAOLO MANTEGAZZA AWARD PRESENTED AT THE CEAS/AIDAA 2025 CONFERENCE

The Paolo Mantegazza Award was presented on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, during the plenary assembly of AIDAA at the 10th CEAS Aerospace Europe Conference & 28th AIDAA International Congress in Turin.

Established as a tribute to Professor Paolo Mantegazza, who passed away about one year ago, the award was conceived to honour his legacy in aeroelasticity and structural dynamics, fields to which he contributed profoundly throughout his career.

The recognition was reserved for an early-career researcher whose work reflects the scientific quality and intellectual curiosity that Professor Mantegazza inspired.

The award was presented to Mr. Declan Clifford, PhD candidate at the University of Southampton, whose research was commended for its methodological rigour and relevance.

The moment carried a particular symbolic value, as Mr. Clifford’s supervisor, Professor Andrea Da Ronch, is a former student of Professor Mantegazza.

The presentation was organized on behalf of the Department of Aerospace Science and Technology (DAER) of Politecnico di Milano and AIDAA.

The Department extends its congratulations to Mr. Clifford and expresses its appreciation to all colleagues who contributed to this initiative in memory of Professor Mantegazza.
