DAER PRESENTED AT CAMPUS NEST IN TRENTO

On 10 and 11 April, the Campus NEST in Trento hosted the "Pensiero Critico" training weekend: two days of sessions dedicated to students of the University of Trento, built around themes of transferable skills development.

The session offered practical and conceptual tools for navigating the main activities of a Department and a University: from the dissemination of scientific articles to project launches, from outreach initiatives to thematic conferences. A professional practice whose aim is to make academic knowledge comprehensible and relevant to a variety of audiences, both inside and outside the university.

«University communications means taking care of how knowledge is transmitted, with the epistemic and ethical responsibilities this entails.»

With the support of Dr Virginia Presi, the session explored the journey that follows the production of a scientific article: from journal publication to conference presentation, through to dissemination within the scientific community and to the wider public. The discussion then broadened to the relationship between the university and society, examining the activities that characterise the public-facing dimension of teaching at Politecnico di Milano.

In this context, the DAER Summer School, the Politecnico di Milano Open Day and Engineering Festival were presented as initiatives in which the Department takes an active part, representing concrete opportunities for engagement between the University and the local community.
